DRIVEN! Driven, the title of the album that almost was, describes the type of artist and person that Chad Mullins is. When this Ohio native began playing the guitar and banjo as a way to help pull a shy Chad from his shell, no one knew he would go from singing at churches to touring overseas.
Chad learned to play the banjo so well that he began teaching the skill to others at the age of 12. By sixteen Chad was making his first appearance on Star Search, eventually becoming the 1990 Teen Vocalist of the Year. Yes, that is Chad standing next to Alanis Morissette on the now infamous VH1 clip of her Star Search defeat. Chadís Star Search wins led him to many opportunities. As a result of the show, and at the encouragement of a well-known management team, Chad made Nashville his new home, at the age of 18, and began work on his first solo project.
Through the years, Chad has had major label record contracts with Giant and Universal South Records. He has also worked with various producers including Tom Collins and Scott Hendricks. Chad has created shows for Major League Baseball and the US Army and Navy. He has performed domestically and abroad including repeat performances in Germany due to his popularity.
Chad Mullins currently resides in the western KY community of Murray. His paycheck comes from his job as a nurse, but his real reward is from his music. Whether Chad is playing to a stadium full of people, or singing at a friendís wedding, Chad Mullins remains the ultimate artist. For a true artist, it isnít about the venue or the money, itís about being able to share his gift and dream with anyone who will listen. Chadís last album, Driven, may not have made it the shelves of Americaís stores, but the soulful voice of Chad Mullins continues to sing in our hearts.
