Billy Mike was introduced to country music at a very young age. His father who was also a musician would gather with friends at a local dairy farm and play music every weekend. Billy would never miss a night to watch and listen. A self taught musician and vocalist, Billy has entertained at local venues for over 20 years now. He has opened for nationaly acclaimed artists such as the Buckinghams, George Ducas, and most recently Danielle Peck. Billy's favorite country artist and strongest influence is Dwight Yoakam. Other influences are Buck Owens, George Jones, John Fogerty, and Alan Jackson. When not playing music, Billy Mike is a full time Police Sergeant at the Manteno Police department in Illinois. He comments that having the ability to create a mood that would touch the deepest personal feelings of anyone, and then to change that atmosphere into a totally charged and energized experience is what he constantly strives for. Billy performs with his band Bakersfield throughout the year at a large variety of venues including private parties, clubs, fairs and festivals.
