On January 26, 2006 Michelle René went from being 1 of 5 National Finalists to the winner of the $100,000 Grand Prize, the title "Best New Act in Country Music" and having the option to sign a record contract with Midas Records.

In a little over a month, Michelle signed a deal with Midas Records, went into the studio to record her first single, "Kick It Up A Notch", which will hit airwaves on May 1st and will begin her publicity campaign for Colgate-Palmolive. Starting April 3rd, she will embark on a 3-month long radio tour to support her new single.
